Custom-made veneers are an outstanding way to make immediate enhancements to an individual’s smile. Veneers are comprised of a thin, wafer-like shells that are placed on the front surface of one’s teeth in order to adjust their appearance and correct noticeable flaws. With their impressive versatility and simplicity, veneers are one of the most popular treatment methods in all of cosmetic dentistry. And thanks to advances in dental technology, Sam J. Halabo, DMD is extremely proud to offer custom-fit veneers for patients in just one visit.
Veneers offer many applications in cosmetic dentistry, including:
- Color adjustments
- Correcting misshapen and crooked teeth
- Repairing teeth that are damaged or chipped
- Adjusting the size and shape of teeth
With their ultra-thin design, veneers are almost entirely invisible to others. Once applied, they offer the full appearance of healthy, white tooth enamel. Since our veneers are constructed using stain-resistant materials, they are not prone to discolorations caused by tobacco products or dark colored beverages like coffee, wine and juice. When cared for properly, a set of veneers should last for up to ten years. Our practice offers porcelain and composite veneers, as well as the Lumineers brand.
The first step when providing veneers is to shave off a small amount of tooth enamel on any tooth that is set to receive treatment. This is done to make space for the veneers that will be applied. Next, we take 3D scans of the patient’s teeth so that a custom set of veneers can be created right here while you wait. While the veneers are being made, we will use etching gel to roughen the outer surfaces of the teeth. This will allow the veneers to bond with the teeth more easily.
Once the veneers are ready, we will apply them on the surface of the teeth and secure them using a dental adhesive. Finally, we conclude the procedure by providing the patient with helpful instructions on caring for their new veneers.
